Inaugural Parenting Conference

Kids & Company’s Inaugural Parenting Conference on November 5 was a huge success!

Understanding that one of the biggest challenges of being a working parent is balancing professional responsibilities with the realities of raising a family, this conference addressed these challenges and offered advice on how to keep it all in balance.

The day began with a buffet breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at beautiful new hotel – Marriott Springhill Gardens in Vaughan.
Kids & Company’s co-founder and CEO, Victoria Sopik kicked off the conference at 9:00 a.m. Victoria and her partner, Jennifer Nashmi, co-founder and CFO, initiated this conference as they were responding to requests by parents asking for more family events and expert advice for parents.

Other topics covered at the conference, by respected Canadian experts, award winning authors and TV personalities, and celebrated parenting leaders, were:

  • Power Struggles to Co-operation – winning them over
  • Nutrition
  • Sleep Challenges, and,
  • Panel discussion on “Finding a healthy balance between work and raising a family”, moderated by Today’s Parent Editor-in-Chief, Karine Ewart

Parents with children of all ages were able to listen to thought provoking ideas and advice, as well as ask questions throughout the day. The conference was extremely interactive and personal. Kids & Company even offered on-site child care services for those parents that wanted to attend but struggled with quality care for their little ones on the week-end.
The conference was jammed-packed with amazing presenters and panellists, and wrapped up at 2:00 p.m. All guests went home with a very cool swag bag that contained goodies for both parents and children.
