Our Royal Oak location is nestled in the hub of a family-friendly district at Country Hills Boulevard and 112th Avenue NW. We are in the Royal Oak Shopping Centre, alongside a Kumon learning centre and several great restaurants and shops. Free on-site parking and the close proximity to transit make drop-off and pick-up easy for parents and caregivers.
Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
Our centre is a bright and beautiful space on the top floor with sprawling views of the Rocky Mountains. 11 classrooms accommodate up to 142 children that range from 0 months to 12 years old. Children in the Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Kindergarten programs can attend on a full-time, part-time, or backup care basis. Each room is well stocked with toys that support our emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy, as well as a password-protected webcam that parents can access during the day. We are lucky to have a large and private second-floor playground that gets plenty of sunshine in all seasons.
Children are provided with a hot lunch and 3 snacks each day, catered by our Kidco Kitchen. The Kidco Kitchen is founded on a fresh-from-scratch philosophy and our food contains no additives, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours. Learn more here.

My name is Amanda Goldsmith, and I am the Director at the Kids & Company Royal Oak centre. I am a recipient of an Early Childhood Education diploma from Mount Royal University and have been working in the child care field for over 14 years. I believe in open lines of communication with our parents through frequent email updates, monthly newsletters and an open door policy. I encourage parents to approach me with any questions or concerns they may have or just to say hello – so please feel free to come see me at any time! Beyond the world of child care, my hobbies include bicycling, reading, and arts & crafts. I love to crochet, knit, scrapbook and more – you name it, I do it! Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Toddler program is for children between the ages of roughly 15 months and 2.9 years. Toddlers are mobile and eager to explore their environment. As they strive for independence, our educators use an Emergent curriculum approach to learning that supports each child’s individuality. Some of the most important learning outcomes of our toddler program are language development, socialization, self-help skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
