Emergent Curriculum: A Play-based Approach to Early Learning
At Kids & Company, we follow an emergent approach to curriculum—a child-centered, play-based way of learning that begins with careful observation of children’s interests, questions, and developmental cues. Rather than relying on rigid, pre-set lesson plans, our educators observe what each child is drawn to and create meaningful, individualized learning opportunities that build on those interests. This responsive approach supports deeper engagement and learning by meeting children where they are—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Daily Digital Reporting
You’ll receive daily reports on what your child eats, their nap times, curriculum activities, milestones and more. Delivering mid-day smiles as well as important insight into your child’s day.
Webcams
Password-protected web cameras are installed in each classroom and provide a real-time video feed of your child’s day.
Nutritious meals & snacks
Children enjoy a hot lunch and three snacks each day, prepared by our Kidco Kitchen — made from scratch with no additives, preservatives, or artificial flavours or colours.
Health & Safety
Every classroom follows rigorous health and safety protocols, tailored to meet local licensing and regional public health requirements. Your child’s well-being is always our top priority.
Families love the bright rooms and the fully fenced third-floor terrace playground in tower 1 that gets plenty of sunshine. The outdoor space also offers wonderful views of downtown, making it a unique and exciting place for children to play.

Meet the Director
Natasha St. Pierre
My name is Natasha St. Pierre and I am the Co-Centre Director at the Ottawa Albert centre. I have been working with Kids & Company since 2006 and since that time, I have worked with every age group. I enjoy working with children and have a passion to teach, but I also love new challenges and enjoy connecting with families as a centre Director. To let you know a bit more about myself, I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy reading, golfing, cross country skiing, and living life to the fullest.

Kayla Pattee
I am Kayla Pattee, the Co-Centre Director at Kids & Company Ottawa Albert. I received my Early Childhood Educators degree at Algonquin College In Ottawa, Ontario and have been working in child care since 2008. In my spare time, I love to spend my time with my dog, watch movies, bake and spend time with my family. I also love to travel! Now that you know a bit more about us, we would love to meet you!
