At Kids & Company, we follow an emergent approach to curriculum—a child-centered, play-based way of learning that begins with careful observation of children’s interests, questions, and developmental cues. Rather than relying on rigid, pre-set lesson plans, our educators observe what each child is drawn to and create meaningful, individualized learning opportunities that build on those interests. This responsive approach supports deeper engagement and learning by meeting children where they are—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Natural materials are woven into our classroom in many ways, from our classroom nature shelves to sensory play, and art experiences. Simple natural materials such as leaves, stones, sticks, pinecones, shells, flowers, seed pods, and tree bark offer endless possibilities for learning. Often a collection of outdoor treasures becomes the starting point for a new idea, a question, or an unexpected discovery. By offering materials and experiences that build on these interests, we give children the opportunity to explore their ideas, make connections, and learn in ways that feel meaningful to them.
You’ll receive daily reports on what your child eats, their nap times, curriculum activities, milestones and more. Delivering mid-day smiles as well as important insight into your child’s day.
Password-protected web cameras are installed in each classroom and provide a real-time video feed of your child’s day.
Children enjoy a hot lunch and three snacks each day, prepared by our Kidco Kitchen — made from scratch with no additives, preservatives, or artificial flavours or colours.
Every classroom follows rigorous health and safety protocols, tailored to meet local licensing and regional public health requirements. Your child’s well-being is always our top priority.
Families love the bright, spacious rooms with big windows and the dedicated resource room and teacher’s library that support creative activities. Outside, the rooftop playground features a rubber floor, sunshades, a garden area, and plenty of fun toys for children to explore.
Our centre is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
My name is Ada, and I am the Director at Kids & Company Victoria. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Royal Roads University, along with certifications in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Infant Toddler Education, and Special Needs Education in British Columbia. With nearly three years of experience in child care, I am passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and build confidence. Supporting children during their early years and watching them reach new milestones is the most rewarding part of my role. Since joining Kids & Company in 2023, I have been grateful for the opportunities to grow professionally while building meaningful relationships with children, families, and educators. I love being part of such a collaborative and caring community, where we work together to help every child thrive.
