The Richmond location is near the intersection of Shell Rd. and Cambie Rd., about halfway between the Richmond Nature Park and the Fraser River. We are easily accessible by car or transit and have 5 reserved drop-off/pick-up parking spaces for families travelling by car.
Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
Our 7 classrooms can accommodate 97 children in the Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs. Each program is available on a full-time or backup care basis.
One of the first things you will notice about our Richmond centre is the colourful and bright classrooms which create a warm and nurturing environment. We also have a great outdoor space with a large playground, sand box, and big trees. Whether we are collecting leaves, splashing in rain puddles or engaging in our physical education, our children enjoy the playground all year round!
At Kids & Company, we use an emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy. This means classrooms are equipped with educational toys and Early Childhood Educators are there to readily guide children as their interests emerge. Classrooms are also equipped with password-protected webcams that parents can access throughout the day.
Children are provided with a hot lunch and 3 snacks each day, catered by our Kidco Kitchen. The Kidco Kitchen is founded on a fresh-from-scratch philosophy and our food contains no additives, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours. Learn more here.

Meet the Director
My name is Thaisbher Aguilar and I am the Director at the Kids & Company Richmond centre. I am a recipient of an Early Childhood Education diploma from Vancouver Career College and also have Montessori Training. In addition, I have a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Venezuela. I am passionate about child care and have been working in the field for over 11 years. To tell you a bit more about myself, I am happily married to my husband Jorge and we have one child, Manolo. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, crafts and embroidery. I love working at the Richmond centre because it is a fun, creative and warm learning environment to be in. My favourite part of the day is when I walk by a classroom and hear our students laughing and enjoying themselves. That is what learning and growing are all about!
Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Toddler program is for children between the ages of roughly 15 months and 2.9 years. Toddlers are mobile and eager to explore their environment. As they strive for independence, our educators use an Emergent curriculum approach to learning that supports each child’s individuality. Some of the most important learning outcomes of our toddler program are language development, socialization, self-help skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
