Emergent Curriculum: A Play-based Approach to Early Learning
At Kids & Company, we follow an emergent approach to curriculum—a child-centered, play-based way of learning that begins with careful observation of children’s interests, questions, and developmental cues. Rather than relying on rigid, pre-set lesson plans, our educators observe what each child is drawn to and create meaningful, individualized learning opportunities that build on those interests. This responsive approach supports deeper engagement and learning by meeting children where they are—academically, socially, and emotionally.

You’ll receive daily reports on what your child eats, their nap times, curriculum activities, milestones and more. Delivering mid-day smiles as well as important insight into your child’s day.
Nutritious meals & snacks
Children enjoy a hot lunch and three snacks each day, prepared by our Kidco Kitchen — made from scratch with no additives, preservatives, or artificial flavours or colours.

Milagros (Mimi) Blanchard
I'm Mimi Blanchard, Centre Director at Kids & Company Livingston. I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education and a Master's in Religious Education, and I've been working in child care for over ten years. I joined Kids & Company in 2012 because of its strong reputation, family-focused culture, and supportive team. I love the welcoming energy at our Livingston centre and am passionate about creating a fun, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, crafting home décor, Zumba, spending time with my family, and relaxing with my dog, Lucy. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to our centre!
