Meet the Director

Krista Hetherington-Duffy

My name is Krista H. Duffy and I am the Centre Director at the Kids & Company Top of the Hill location. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Child and Youth Studies, a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Family Studies and Gerontology, and a Certificate in Community Residential Services. I have been working in child care for 20+ years and have seen firsthand how children and the field of child care continue to grow and evolve over time. I am passionate about building meaningful connections with children, families, and educators, and creating a community that supports growth, education, development, and fun for everyone involved. I love working at Kids & Company because Top of the Hill feels like a small, close-knit community within a larger family of care, and I value being part of an organization that brings supportive, nurturing environments to Nova Scotian communities and families. What makes our location unique is that Top of the Hill is a school-age program located in Dartmouth, where we work with children from a variety of schools, supporting those from pre-primary through to Grade 5. Each day, our team is dedicated to providing a safe, engaging environment where children can learn, build relationships, and grow with confidence, supported by caring educators who are committed to their development.
