Welcome to Kids & Company BrightStart Port Coquitlam!

This location is “by” Kids & Company because it retains the location and building of the previous daycare, BrightStart Children’s Academy. BrightStart Port Coquitlam was purchased by Kids & Company and now operates with our staff and proprietary programming.

We are located in the Riverwood Gate neighbourhood of Port Coquitlam, across from Terry Fox High School and about 5 minutes from Blakeburn Elementary. We are easily accessible by car or transit and have on-site parking that makes drop-off and pick-up easy for parents and caregivers.

Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.

We have 4 classrooms that can accommodate 73 children from ages 0 to 12 years old in our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and School Age programs. School Age is available for Before and After School Care and Summer Camp, while the other programs are available on a full-time, part-time, or backup care basis.

At Kids & Company, we use an emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy. This means classrooms are equipped with educational toys and Early Childhood Educators are there to readily guide children as their interests emerge. Classrooms are also equipped with password-protected webcams that parents can access throughout the day.

Inside, there are big rooms and big windows to let in plenty of natural light. Outside there are 2 wood-chipped playgrounds that get both sun and shade, each one filled with age-appropriate toys and play structures.
