Emergent Curriculum: A Play-based Approach to Early Learning
At Kids & Company, we follow an emergent approach to curriculum—a child-centered, play-based way of learning that begins with careful observation of children’s interests, questions, and developmental cues. Rather than relying on rigid, pre-set lesson plans, our educators observe what each child is drawn to and create meaningful, individualized learning opportunities that build on those interests. This responsive approach supports deeper engagement and learning by meeting children where they are—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Daily Digital Reporting
You’ll receive daily reports on what your child eats, their nap times, curriculum activities, milestones and more. Delivering mid-day smiles as well as important insight into your child’s day.
Health & Safety
Every classroom follows rigorous health and safety protocols, tailored to meet local licensing and regional public health requirements. Your child’s well-being is always our top priority.
Our location has 3 separate, fenced off spaces for each of our age groups. The preschool side is set up with a large hill for rolling and climbing. We try to use natural as much as possible as well as loose parts. We have lots of sand play in the summer and enjoy spending lots of time there in the sun.

Allison Wilson
Hello, my name is Allison Wilson and I am the Centre Director at Kids and Company in East Hants. I am a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University with my Child and Youth study degree, this earns me a Level 3 ECE. I have lived in the Enfield area my entire childhood and now reside in Milford with my family. I have attended school in this very building all through elementary and feel I have come full circle being the Director of the childcare centre that is now holds. I also have two children, Alex and Olivia, who are my life.
