Welcome to Tyke Town St. Peters, by Kids & Company!
This location is “by” Kids & Company because it retains the location and building of the previous daycare, Tyke Town, but was purchased by Kids & Company and now operates with our staff and proprietary programming.
We are located beside the O’Fallon Paramedics in a quiet neighborhood with the Belleau River behind us. For those driving, we are just east of the intersection of Highway K and Mexico Rd. Our free-standing building has been newly renovated and our parking lot has plenty of spots for drop-off and pick-up.
Inside our building are large windows in each classroom, bright colors, and plenty of educational and age-appropriate toys. Our children also love the large outdoor playground, equipped with slides, a teeter-totter and multiple climbing structures.
Our 7 classrooms can accommodate 101 children from newborn to 5 years old in the Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs. Each program is available on a part-time (2, 3, or 4 days per week) or full-time basis.
At Kids & Company, we use an emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy. This means children are presented with learning opportunities in direct response to their individual interests and skills. Our children are immersed in experiences that enhance language, literacy, a sense of music and rhythm, and socialization so that they may develop independence, confidence and a positive sense of self and the world around them.
We serve our children breakfast, lunch and snacks each day, all prepared in our on-site kitchens.

I am Regina Mendoza, the Center Director of Tyke Town St. Peters, by Kids & Company. I hold a Master’s degree in Education. I am passionate about working in child care as the time spent with the kids is just amazing. I am always laughing, always surrounded by love and hugs! But the most precious about this is that I am the one learning from them. The time we spent might be just a year, but the knowledge they give me will be in my heart forever. As a teacher, I related immediately with Kids & Company’s values which I have been practicing since my first day in a classroom. You might think of them as the biggest changes, but once you see how they make our kids greater everyday, these values also make you want to grow and learn. And, for me, as a foreign person, Kids & Company are the people who welcomed me with open arms and have become friends that I will keep forever.
Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Toddler program is for children between the ages of roughly 15 months and 2.9 years. Toddlers are mobile and eager to explore their environment. As they strive for independence, our educators use an Emergent curriculum approach to learning that supports each child’s individuality. Some of the most important learning outcomes of our toddler program are language development, socialization, self-help skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
