Summer Salads!

I have a confession to make…. I am a BIG salad lover! Salad is easy & quick to prepare, it’s healthy and delicious! I eat salads all year long; however, during the summer months, I like to spice things up! I deviate from the traditional leafy green salads and add a twist! Specifically, I like to add non-traditional fruits to my salad. To mix it up, I love to add watermelon or peaches. With a few little tweaks, I can transform my favourite leafy dish into a fantastic summer treat!

Another way to spruce up your salad is by adding your own dressing. Store-bought dressings are packed with unnecessary calories and fat. Making dressing from scratch might sound intimidating, but there is no reason to fear! Home-made dressing is actually really simple and easy to make. Best of all, you control what goes into the final product. You can even personalize your dressings according to taste or preference.

I will leave you off with a great recipe I found online. This recipe is from naturalmommie.com, and with only four ingredients, it is super simple to make! Tweet us @kidcokitchen and let us know what you think!
