Curriculum

The Kids & Company philosophy is to provide young learners with an innovative, nurturing and stimulating environment where children develop independence, confidence and a positive sense of self and the world around them. In small groups, children receive individual attention so a healthy attitude towards learning is developed. The curriculum is designed to involve children in experiences to enhance language, literacy, music and movement, art and socialization. Through play, all areas of development are fostered.

Our Classrooms: Our classrooms are places where children can make new friends, explore using all of their senses and grow their minds, bodies and hearts. This includes our classrooms, playground areas, specialty rooms as well as computer labs. We believe strongly in inspiring creativity through the arts through our innovative music, arts and movement programs and we encourage infant and toddler signing to aid communication among the children and between child and teacher.

Cue-Based Philosophy: At Kids & Company, we implement a cue-based, child-centered philosophy to create programming that is responsive to all children in a group. Teachers develop and adapt individual programs by observing and listening to your children. Through this emergent curriculum plan, and the use of high quality materials and resources, children are given the opportunity to decide what they would like to learn, which builds a foundation for success and life-long learning.

Play-Based Learning is Key: This unique curriculum is designed to get children involved with experiences that enhance their learning in areas such as language, early literacy, literature, music, movement, art, and socialization. Through play, all areas of development are enhanced. In small groups, children receive individual attention in a nurturing environment where a healthy attitude towards learning is developed. Kids & Company also employs the Core Knowledge Method which encourages language development, creativity, group work, sharing and personal responsibility. By creating a safe, secure and warm environment, children will develop independence, confidence and a positive sense of themselves and respect for others. With the care, respect and love we provide, children can develop to their full potential.
