Where work and play come together

Kids & Company (“Kidco”) provides a nurturing and educational early learning environment for children to play, discover and grow.  We offer proprietary curriculum such as Alpha-Mania (pre-reading), Mini Masters (art program introducing visionary artists), Munchkinetics (fitness and movement), Sign Language, Music, Science, structured and unstructured play and a whole lot of fun.

Volumes of research show that quality child care helps children become lifelong learners and supports the social needs of families.

Kids & Company also partners with many of Canada’s largest and most recognizable corporations to provide work-life balance solutions through guaranteed flexible child care and other dependent care programs and services.  Kidco’s mission includes improving some of the challenges that working parents must balance, making Kids & Company a cornerstone for numerous employee wellness strategies.  Visit our Corporate Services page to learn more about these programs.

Kids & Company was created by working parents for working parents.  Proudly Canadian, Kids & Company was founded in 2002 by CEO Victoria Sopik, a life-long entrepreneur and mother of eight, and CFO Jennifer Nashmi, a corporate leader and mother of three.  They have firsthand knowledge of the delicate balance between raising children and a successful career and have filled that need with reliable, flexible and nurturing child care.

Since 2002, Kids & Company has cared for a generation of Canadian children and is one of Canada’s leading child care and early learning providers.  We currently have almost 60 child care centres across Canada and the United States.

We are thrilled that you are considering Kids & Company for your family’s child care and learning needs.  Our energy, passion, innovative programs and reliability make Kids & Company the ideal place for your child to learn and grow.

Welcome to Kids & Company!

Victoria Sopik
President, CEO and Mother of 8

I am so pleased that you are considering becoming a part of the Kids & Company family. Every time a new child registers, I feel that I am personally entrusted with your child's care and for this I am very grateful.

I have eight children of my own! They now range from 17- 28 years and although I love them dearly, I certainly miss them being babies. (They didn't talk back then!)

As an entrepreneur and mother, I know firsthand how challenging it is to balance work and family and I’ve found that finding the right child care is incredibly important. That’s why at Kids & Company we offer reliable, professional child care that is flexible enough to meet each family’s specific needs. We provide a safe, nurturing and enriched learning environment for your child. And we don't charge late fees!

We provide you with peace of mind, so you can feel good about going to work every day.

I have written this note to launch my weekly blog, packed with more valuable content for you. Not only will my blog provide you with a quick update as to exciting things that are happening in the Kids & Company world but also some stories from my personal, hectic life.

On a corporate note, we have recently opened two new locations in Oakville, Ontario. One is at Cornwall Road and Trafalgar and the other one is at Trafalgar and Dundas. Also, our new Milton, Barrie and Whitby locations are all accepting registrations.  This spring and summer we have three British Columbia locations scheduled to open. One at Morgan Crossing and the other two in Surrey. We are doing our best to have child care available in a variety of locations for our busy working families!

On a more personal note, as a family we continue to be obsessed with Baby Mac! He is almost two and has a joyful, fun and outgoing personality. He loves everyone including his more than ten aunts and uncles. I keep telling my children that not all babies are as social and happy to be passed around endlessly. We still fight to play with him!

His new baby brother arrived on Christmas. Best Christmas gift ever! True for us, we hope that his big brother continues to feel that way. Now that his mother is on maternity leave, Mac continues to attend one of our locations on a part-time basis. As a grandmother, it is a special treat to drop Maclean off or pick him up at child care. It’s also great for me to be able to visit the centre and see things from a client perspective!

The university kids are back to their second term. They certainly feel that this is “the best time of their life"!! Our two daughters have finished grad school at Queens. The oldest finished law school and is part way through her articling. My younger daughter is a scientist and is hoping to continue her education. With just one son left at home (he is in grade twelve) we are looking forward to a slightly quiet year ahead, though we are planning our daughter’s wedding in May. Always busy with eight children!

If you want to hear more about "my world", my parenting tips and all that I have learned from being a mom for the last thirty years, please click on the blog button below. I look forward to personally connecting with you!

With Warm Regards,
Victoria
