Our Millrise centre is located near Millrise Blvd. and 149th Avenue, just a block away from the C-Train line. Out front you will find several parking spots labelled for Kids & Company parents, making pick-up and drop-off a breeze.
Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
We have 6 classrooms and can accommodate up to 72 children from 0 months to 6 years old. Programs are available for Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers, and Kindergarteners on a full-time or backup care basis.
Our centre is brightly coloured and spacious with large windows and webcams that parents can access throughout the day. Inside are several play areas, including a large indoor play space we call the Jungle Room. Outside is a playground in a cozy courtyard filled with trees.
A unique feature of this location is that we’re adjacent to a senior citizen complex that our preschoolers often get to visit. These multigenerational visits foster compassion, understanding and patience in the children, and it is truly amazing to see the joy that the children and seniors bring to one another!
Children are provided with a hot lunch and 3 snacks each day, catered by our Kidco Kitchen. The Kidco Kitchen is founded on a fresh-from-scratch philosophy and our food contains no additives, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours. Learn more here.

Meet the Director
My name is name is Wendy Hutchison and I am the Director at the Kids & Company Millrise centre. I have been in the child care field for more than 20 years and received my Early Childhood Education degree from Mount Royal University. I just celebrated my 10th anniversary at Kids & Company and feel very fortunate to work with such a wonderful group of people! To let you know a bit about myself, I love the outdoors, including gardening, camping and hiking. Visiting Hawaii and Alaska and seeing their incredible views are in second and third place on my to do list. Both right underneath winning the lottery! I love working at the Kids & Company Millrise centre because of the amazing staff, spacious rooms and our beautiful backyard. I get to share my love for the outdoors each day with our children in our large backyard and playground. We often watch the robins build their nests in our large, shady trees, look at snowflake patterns in the winter, or hunt for the prettiest leaves in the fall! Spending time with children has always been a passion of mine and I love teaching them everyday! One family recently told me the story of when they were going to “Wendy’s” for lunch. When they got there, their young son Joshua said to his parents, “I thought we were going to Wendy’s, this isn’t her house!” and got upset! When I hear that the children enjoy learning and spending time here at Millrise as much as I do, it never fails to put a smile on my face. Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Toddler program is for children between the ages of roughly 15 months and 2.9 years. Toddlers are mobile and eager to explore their environment. As they strive for independence, our educators use an Emergent curriculum approach to learning that supports each child’s individuality. Some of the most important learning outcomes of our toddler program are language development, socialization, self-help skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
