This Lower Lonsdale location is near the intersection of Chesterfield Ave. and Esplanade E. We are a short walk from the Waterfront Park, Lonsdale Quay and Seabus. Those travelling by car can use our 4 designated parking spots for pick-up and drop-off, and those travelling by transit will find multiple stops nearby.
Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
We have 6 classrooms that can accommodate 80 children from 0 to 5 years old. Our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs are available on a full-time basis.
At Kids & Company, we use an emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy. This means classrooms are equipped with educational toys and Early Childhood Educators are there to readily guide children as their interests emerge. Classrooms are also equipped with password-protected webcams that parents can access throughout the day.
Inside our centre is bright and open, and outside is a sunny and spacious playground for use year-round.
Children are provided with a hot lunch and 3 snacks each day, catered by our Kidco Kitchen. The Kidco Kitchen is founded on a fresh-from-scratch philosophy and our food contains no additives, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours. Learn more here.

Meet the Director
I am Jenny Jiwon Kim, the Centre Director of Kids & Company North Van Esplanade. I hold an Early Childhood Education Diploma from Confederation College and have worked in child care for over four years. I am passionate about working in child care as I see children embark on new learning adventures every day. It is incredibly rewarding to know that I can contribute to their growth and development. While the job of caring for children can present its challenges, the children’s smiles provide powerful motivation for me to persist in my dedication. What I appreciate the most about working at Kids & Company is the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of children in a supportive and nurturing environment. Seeing the progress and joy in the children’s faces as they learn and explore is incredibly fulfilling. Being part of a team dedicated to providing quality care and education creates a sense of belonging and purpose.
Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Toddler program is for children between the ages of roughly 15 months and 2.9 years. Toddlers are mobile and eager to explore their environment. As they strive for independence, our educators use an Emergent curriculum approach to learning that supports each child’s individuality. Some of the most important learning outcomes of our toddler program are language development, socialization, self-help skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
