This location is situated in the Small Lake community near the main intersection of Herder Dr. and Highway 20. You’ll find our on-site parking makes drop-off and pick-up easy for parents and caregivers.
Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
We have 4 classrooms that can accommodate 86 children from 0 months to 12 years old. Children can join our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten, and School Age programs on a full-time, part-time, or backup care basis.
In each room, you’ll find large windows that let the natural light in, as well as age-appropriate toys that support our emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy. Outside is a large fenced-in playground that gets lots of sunshine for children to enjoy in every season.
Children are provided with a hot lunch and 3 snacks each day, catered by our Kidco Kitchen. The Kidco Kitchen is founded on a fresh-from-scratch philosophy and our food contains no additives, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours. Learn more here.

I am Junior Frater, the Centre Director of Kids & Company Sylvan Lake. I have a level 3 Education diploma. I have been working in child care for 6 years, and I have been working with Kids & Company since 2019. After my high school years, I knew I wanted to be a teacher so I could help others, and make a difference in people’s lives. I have a wife and two young boys of my own, who are always full of energy! In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, fishing, camping and listening to music. The Kids & Company Sylvan Lake location is located in the beautiful community of Sylvan Lake, surrounded by the Lake and nearby parks. What makes our centre unique is our team. We are a very dedicated and creative team. We work to enhance child development and provide opportunities for children to grow their potential. Kids & Company is the best because they provide a lot of opportunity for growth and personal development. I have seen myself succeed and flourish at Kids & Company, constantly learning, and becoming a better version of myself. Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Toddler program is for children between the ages of roughly 15 months and 2.9 years. Toddlers are mobile and eager to explore their environment. As they strive for independence, our educators use an Emergent curriculum approach to learning that supports each child’s individuality. Some of the most important learning outcomes of our toddler program are language development, socialization, self-help skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
Kids & Company’s School Age program accepts children from 5 - 12 years old (Grade 1 - 6) and is available at select locations. Programs include Before and After School Care, School Break Programming, and Summer Camp. Classroom space exists for smaller groups to gather, and activities are designed to meet the needs of varying developmental levels, touching on arts, science, math, drama, imaginative play, and physical fitness. Educators are also available to provide academic support for children that wish to do their homework during After School Care.
