Kidco Kitchen Super Bowl Party

Will you and your little ones be watching the Super Bowl this Sunday? Or maybe attending a Super Bowl party with family and friends? Looking for yummy snacks and meal ideas that your family will enjoy? We've got you covered!

If you’re looking for meal favourites, you can try our classic Kidco Kitchen Chicken Mac & Cheese or our tasty Chitty Chitty Bean Chili. These are sure to be fan-favourites at any family Super Bowl party!

Need some snack ideas? I’ve included some of popular Kidco Kitchen recipes below to get you started. They are all nutritious and delicious. Perfect for all the little sports-fans who will be watching the game with you.

 

Kidco Kitchen Happy Hummus
*Makes 6 portions

What you need:

-       2 Cup Chickpeas

-       ¼ Cup Olive Oil

-       2 Tbsp Lemon Juice

-       1 Tbsp Minced Garlic

-       2 Tbsp Water, as needed

What to do:

1. Make sure to wash your hands before you begin.
2. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until creamy.  Add more water or lemon juice if necessary for a smooth puree.

Kidco Kitchen Trail Mix
*Makes 6 portions

What you need:

-       ½ Cup Shredded Coconut

-       1 ¼ Cup Shreddies

-       1 ¼ Cup Cheerios

-       ½ Cup Raisins

What to do:
1. Make sure to wash your hands before you begin
2. Preheat oven to 350F. Toast shredded coconut until brown - approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Turn the coconut over and bake for another 5 minutes. Keep your eye on the oven. Allow to cool
3. Combine remaining ingredients and serve.

Kidco Kitchen Banana Bread
*Makes 6 portions

What you need:

-       ¼ cup veggie oil

-       6 tbsp brown sugar

-       ¼ tsp vanilla extract

-       1 cup whole wheat flour

-       pinch sea salt

-       ¼ tsp baking soda

-       1 tsp cinnamon

-       1 medium egg

-       1 ¼ cup mashed bananas

What to do:
1. Be sure to wash your hands before you begin.
2. Preheat oven to 350F
4. In a large bowl combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and sea salt.
5. In a separate bowl, cream together oil and brown sugar. Stir in eggs, vanilla and mashed bananas until well blended.
6. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture. Stir just to moisten.
7. Pour batter into parchment paper lined pan.
8. Bake for 35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the centre of the loaf comes out clean.
9. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes and then turn out onto a wire rack.
