Kidco Kitchen Update – Lisa Ruscica, Chief Food Ambassador at Kids & Company, Now a Program Advisor for George Brown College

Lisa Ruscica, Kids & Company’s Chief Food Ambassador is now a member of the Program Advisory Committee for George Brown College’s Canadian Food and Nutrition Program. George Brown is a leading college of applied arts with three campuses located in Downtown Toronto. As a member of the Advisory Committee, Lisa, a graduate herself of the Food and Nutrition as well as the Chef Program at George Brown College, will use her experience in the industry to be the link between George Brown programs and the food industry. She is helping to ensure George Brown’s curriculum is innovative, relevant and exciting. She will ensure that the program’s reputation as a leading educator in food and nutrition remains strong.

Lisa is also a member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management. The Association’s main objective is to ensure high standards of training for its members, and to ensure quality food service to the public. The Canadian Society of Nutrition Management provides members clear, simple and proven ways to stay on top of their professional development. As an active member, Lisa has to attain a minimum of 8 continuing education points every year in order to renew her annual membership with the Society. This means she is constantly updating her knowledge, learning the newest trends and facts in the nutrition industry.

As Kids & Company’s Chief Food Ambassador, Lisa is responsible for creating all of the Kidco Kitchen menus. They are then approved by a registered dietician and nutritionist. She works with both our Chef Teams at the Kidco Kitchen commissary kitchens, and the on-site Chefs to ensure the Kidco Kitchen menus are being implemented and enjoyed by children all across the country. Kids & Company menus exceed Canada Food Guide and specific provincial standards.
