Our Cochrane centre is located just east of Hwy 22/Cowboy Trail in the picturesque community of Sunset. The COLT station is just a 3-minute walk away, and parents travelling by car will appreciate the free parking in front of the building for easy pick-up and drop-off.
Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
We have 13 classrooms and can accommodate up to 134 children in our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten and School Age programs. Each program is available through full-time or backup care.
Our classrooms have large windows that let in plenty of natural light and offer beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains. Rooms are also equipped with webcams and educational toys that support our emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy. Outside is a large playground that children get to enjoy year-round.
Children are provided with a hot lunch and 3 snacks each day, catered by our Kidco Kitchen. The Kidco Kitchen is founded on a fresh-from-scratch philosophy and our food contains no additives, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours. Learn more here.

I am Dharti Gajjar, the Centre Director of Kids & Company Cochrane. I have a Master of Arts degree and a Master of Education degree. I have been working in child care for over 5 years, and I have been working with Kids & Company since 2018. I have always wanted to work in child care because I feel a sense of honor being able to teach our young generations and watch them grow into intelligent individuals. My husband and I have a beautiful, young daughter and we love to spend time together as a family. In my spare time, I love relaxing, listening to music, and cooking. The Kids & Company Cochrane location is located within viewing distance of the Rocky Mountains. Our natural environment offers the children a diverse learning experience, utilizing our beautiful indoor and outdoor space. We have a wonderful staff who are always willing to support new and existing families as much as we can. Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Toddler program is for children between the ages of roughly 15 months and 2.9 years. Toddlers are mobile and eager to explore their environment. As they strive for independence, our educators use an Emergent curriculum approach to learning that supports each child’s individuality. Some of the most important learning outcomes of our toddler program are language development, socialization, self-help skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
Kids & Company’s School Age program accepts children from 5 - 12 years old (Grade 1 - 6) and is available at select locations. Programs include Before and After School Care, School Break Programming, and Summer Camp. Classroom space exists for smaller groups to gather, and activities are designed to meet the needs of varying developmental levels, touching on arts, science, math, drama, imaginative play, and physical fitness. Educators are also available to provide academic support for children that wish to do their homework during After School Care.
