This location is in the Cole Harbour area, just off Portland St. We are easily accessible by car or transit, and have plenty of on-site parking to make drop-off and pick-up easy for parents and caregivers.
Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
There are 8 classrooms that can accommodate 136 children from ages 0 to 5 years old. We offer Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs with the option of full-time and backup care.
At Kids & Company, we use an emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy. This means children are encouraged to follow their interests and are guided by our Early Childhood Educators as they learn.
Inside is an inviting space full of natural light, with classrooms that are full of educational toys and equipped with webcams so that caregivers can keep up to date on their child’s day. Outside is a beautiful natural playground with a climber, shady spots, lots of engaging equipment, and space to ride bikes.
Our amazing in-house chef provides children with a hot lunch and 3 snacks each day. Meals are founded on a fresh-from-scratch philosophy and our food contains no additives, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours.

Meet the Director
My name is Bethany Hogan and I am the Director at the Kids & Company Dartmouth centre. I have an Early Childhood Education degree and am trained in teaching special needs children. I started working at Kids & Company in 2013 and have over 15 years of experience in the child care field. I have also worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Dartmouth for 6 years in the summer, and 4 years in after school care. I truly love watching the children learn and grow! I love working at Kids & Company because we offer flexible care and are able to adjust our schedule to meet the needs of our families. I also have an amazing team by my side! They each bring a variety of skills, experience and teaching strategies. When combined together, we are able to offer wonderful learning opportunities and creative activities for our students.
Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
