This location is in Lower Sackville, near the corner of Glendale Ave and Cobequid Rd. and south of First Lake. We are just down the road from the Sackville Business Park and have shops, restaurants, and a community health centre nearby. Our centre is easily accessible by car or transit, and we have parking spots on-site to make drop-off and pick-up easy for parents and caregivers.
Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
There are 7 classrooms that can accommodate 102 children from ages 0 to 12 years old. We offer Infant, Toddler and Preschool programs with the option of full-time and backup care. There is also a School Age program that offers Before and After School care, School Break care, Summer Camp, and transit to and from local schools via our Kidco vans or the school’s bus service.
At Kids & Company, we use an emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy. This means children are encouraged to follow their interests and are guided by our Early Childhood Educators as they learn.
Inside are large classrooms with big, bright windows that create a warm and nurturing learning environment. Outside is a large play area with climbers, plenty of equipment, some tree-coverage, and space to run around.
Our wonderful in-house chef provides children with a hot lunch and 3 snacks each day. Meals are founded on a fresh-from-scratch philosophy and our food contains no additives, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours.

Meet the Director
My name is Sheila Chisholm and I am the Director at the Kids & Company Sackville centre. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child and Youth Studies from Mount St Vincent University and have been working in child care for over 20 years. We have a supportive team at the Sackville centre and our teachers bring light and positive energy. We are focused on teamwork, accountability and creating a great environment. I think the best thing about our centre is that we are so personable and have always had such close relationships with our families! We always take the time and go the extra mile. Our open-door policy assures that our families know they can always reach us with a question or concern.
Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Toddler program is for children between the ages of roughly 15 months and 2.9 years. Toddlers are mobile and eager to explore their environment. As they strive for independence, our educators use an Emergent curriculum approach to learning that supports each child’s individuality. Some of the most important learning outcomes of our toddler program are language development, socialization, self-help skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
