This location is in the Sutterbrook Village neighbourhood, close to Inlet Park and near the intersection of Ioco Rd. and Barnet Highway. We are easily accessible by car or transit and have street and underground parking available to make drop-off and pick-up easy.
Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
We have 9 classrooms that can accommodate 117 children from ages 0 to 5 years old. Our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs are available with the option of full-time or backup care.
Inside there are bright and sunny classrooms with large windows looking into our learning spaces. Outside, we have 5 large playgrounds with a mix of sunny and shady spots for children to play year-round.
At Kids & Company, we use an emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy. This means classrooms are equipped with educational toys and Early Childhood Educators are there to readily guide children as their interests emerge. Classrooms are also equipped with password-protected webcams that parents can access throughout the day.
Children are provided with a hot lunch and 3 snacks each day, catered by our Kidco Kitchen. The Kidco Kitchen is founded on a fresh-from-scratch philosophy and our food contains no additives, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours. Learn more here.

14 designated parking spots for parent drop off/pick up between 7-9 am and 4-6 pm. Underground parkade 1 has first 90 minutes free parking but needs to register the registration plate at the pay station. Paid parking available on the street. There is 4 hour street parking outside of the building and also 3 hour parking underground. *This system is being evaluated and pay turn into pay parking in the future.
Meet the Director
I am Kate Kyunghee Hong, the Centre Director of Kids & Company Port Moody. I have been working in child care for over 19 years. My journey began with a profound interest in Montessori education and the Project Approach. During my early years of work, I conducted research on these methodologies to incorporate them into the curriculum and implemented them in a laboratory kindergarten associated with a university. This experience instilled in me the importance of a child-centered curriculum and a deep respect for each child’s individuality. Throughout my Master’s degree studies, I delved into Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, which emphasizes the unique strengths and intelligences of every child. My thesis, “An Ethnographic Study on Sociodramatic Play at Interpersonal Intelligence Centered Pods,” reflects my commitment to nurturing each child’s holistic development based on their individual strengths. In my previous roles, including as a Director at municipal and workplace daycare centres, I had the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with aspiring teachers at several colleges. I believe in the power of collaboration and continuous learning, and I am excited to collaborate with each of you to create a nurturing and inclusive environment for your children. For the past 19 years, I have dedicated myself to this field, firmly believing it to be one of the happiest careers in the world. I moved to Canada with a keen interest in multicultural education. My time at Kids & Company further fueled my passion for embracing diversity and promoting inclusivity in early childhood settings.
Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Toddler program is for children between the ages of roughly 15 months and 2.9 years. Toddlers are mobile and eager to explore their environment. As they strive for independence, our educators use an Emergent curriculum approach to learning that supports each child’s individuality. Some of the most important learning outcomes of our toddler program are language development, socialization, self-help skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
