Kidco Kitchen Super Bowl XLVIII Fun Food Ideas

Will you and your family be watching the Super Bowl this Sunday? Or maybe attending a Super Bowl party with family and friends? Are you looking for great meals and snacks to make for your family party – all child-approved? I’ve got you covered!

Need some snack ideas? I’ve included some of the newest Kidco Kitchen recipes below to get you started. They are all nutritious and delicious. Perfect for all the little sports-fans who will be watching the game with you.

Kidco Kitchen Trail Mix

Makes 6 servings

 What you need:

½ cup Shredded Coconut

1 1/8 cup Shreddies

1 1/8 cup Cheerios

½ cup Raisins

 

What to do:

1)   Wash hands before beginning preparation.

2)   Preheat your oven to 350 F. Toast shredded coconut until brown (approximately 5-10 minutes) and allow to cool.

3)   Combine remaining ingredients and serve.

4)   Portion ½ a cup per person.

 

Kidco Kitchen Tomato Salsa

Makes 6 servings

 What you need:

1 ¼ tablespoons of Lemon Juice

1 tablespoon Cilantro

¼ cup Olive Oil

½ clove Fresh Minced Garlic

2 3/8 cups Diced Fresh Tomatoes

5/8 cups Diced Red Peppers

 

What to do:

1)   Wash hands before beginning preparation.

2)   Clean and chop the tomatoes and red peppers. Allow the tomatoes to drain.

3)   Combine tomatoes, red pepper, lemon juice, olive oil, cilantro and garlic.

4)   Mix well and allow salsa to remain covered and refrigerated for 1 hour.

5)   Portion about 2 tablespoons per person. Serve with tortilla chips or pita.

6)   Enjoy!

 

 

For a yummy treat add oven baked whole wheat pita or tortilla with the salsa.

 

Whole Wheat Pita or Tortilla

What you need:

2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

1 Package or either Whole Wheat Pita or Whole Wheat Tortilla

 

What to do:

1)   Wash hands before beginning preparation.

2)   Preheat your oven to 350 F. Lightly brush olive oil on one side of either the whole wheat pita or tortilla.

3)   Toast until brown (approximately 5-10 minutes) and allow to cool.

4)   Serve with the salsa or enjoy nibbling on its own!!!
