The Tamarack location is near the corner of Tamarack Way NW and 17 St. in the Grove on 17 plaza, just beside South Point Pizza and Bulk Barn. We are easily accessible by car and transit and have plenty of retail stores and restaurants nearby to make for an easy one-stop-shop after work.
Our location is proudly endorsed by Eco-Healthy Child Care®, a program that partners with child care professionals to eliminate environmental hazards in early learning settings with the goal of protecting the health of children and staff.
There are 8 classrooms that can accommodate 106 children in our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten and School Age programs. Care is available on a full-time or backup care basis, and School Agers are welcome to our Before and After School care, School Break care, and Summer Camp.
At Kids & Company, we use an emergent curriculum and learn-through-play philosophy. This means children are encouraged to follow their interests and are guided by our Early Childhood Educators as they learn. Classrooms are full of educational toys and are equipped with webcams so that caregivers can keep up to date on their child’s day. Outside is a fenced playground that gets plenty of sunshine.
We are lucky to have an in-house chef that provides children with a hot lunch and 3 snacks each day. We follow a fresh-from-scratch philosophy and our food contains no additives, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours. Learn more here.
Starting April 1, 2025, parents enrolling children from birth to kindergarten in full-time care across the province will be eligible for a flat parent fee of $326.25 per month, or approximately $15 per day.
Subsidies are accepted in Alberta for families who qualify. Contact the Centre Director for more information.

There is free parking in the lot out front of the building. Centre Entrance is located on the left side of the building, next to the outdoor play space.
Meet the Director
I am Claudia Gordon, the Centre Director of Kids & Company Tamarack. I have a diploma in Early Childhood Education. I have been working in child care for 30 years, and I have been working with Kids & Company since 2016. I have always wanted to work in child care because I am passionate about teaching and making a difference in young children’s lives. In my spare time, I enjoy crocheting, cooking and baking. I love trying new recipes of my own. My favourite thing about the Kids & Company Tamarack location is that we have a strong team connection with so many long-term staff members and families who have continuously supported each other and created a family-like atmosphere. What makes our centre unique is we service 5 schools in the area with transportation to and from school as part of our school age program. We also offer a school age camp in the summertime where children experience many new fun and exciting activities. Kids & Company has provided me with the perfect opportunity to grow and learn as an educator to better serve my students. I pride myself in providing all my children with the very best child care experience and a lifetime of wonderful memories. Kids & Company’s Infant program welcomes newborns up to roughly 15 months. Infants learn about the world around them through their senses, so exploration is critical to their development. Nurturing educators support the children while they take in their surroundings, encouraging them to experience everything the classroom offers; be it creative art, exploring with blocks, listening to songs or engaging in story-time. Our infant program encourages children to follow their own established routines, while becoming comfortable and secure in a new group setting.
Kids & Company’s Toddler program is for children between the ages of roughly 15 months and 2.9 years. Toddlers are mobile and eager to explore their environment. As they strive for independence, our educators use an Emergent curriculum approach to learning that supports each child’s individuality. Some of the most important learning outcomes of our toddler program are language development, socialization, self-help skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills.
Kids & Company’s Preschool program is designed for children between the ages of roughly 2.9 - 6 years. Our educators interact, observe and interpret the interests of our children to encourage discoveries. Our Preschool program provides a foundation for developing greater independence and problem-solving skills; the program integrates new concepts into our children’s world view, promotes sharing and mutual respect, and prepares them for Kindergarten.
