Our Kids & Company Midlake Centre is located near MacLeod Trail and Bannister Road and we are within walking distance of Fish Creek Park, which our school-age children make great use of year-round. The park is the perfect place to enjoy budding spring flowers, the changing leaves in the fall and making snow angels in the winter! Our centre is bright, colourful and always filled with natural sunlight streaming in from the large windows in our classrooms. We have 11 classrooms that can accommodate up to 131 children who range in age from infants to school-age children. We have a diverse team of teachers who work well together to create a nurturing and enriching environment for your children. We offer a year-round, before and after school care program for our school-age children with transportation to and from École Mother Teresa (French Immersion) and Midnapore Elementary school (English/Mandarin).
We know children who sing, dance and explore music regularly perform better in academic settings and tend to have higher self-esteem and social skills. That’s why we believe in introducing it at an early age and run a daily music program that involves interactive songs, rhythmic expression, games and movement. At this centre, we are also affiliated with Together with Heather Music. Heather and her musicians join us each week – on rotating days so our part-time children see them – bringing along age-appropriate tools like shakers, rattles, ukuleles and more. With a background in musical therapy and a successful career in creating children’s albums, this partner complements our music program perfectly. https://rattleandstrum.com/together-with-heather-music.
We have designated drop-off/ pick-up parking spots.
Meet the Director
My name is Julie Moses and I am the Director at the Kids & Company Midlake centre. I am a recipient of a Level 3 Early Childhood Education diploma and have been working in the child care field for more than 30 years. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with children of all ages, from infants to school age. Coming to work every morning and having the opportunity to interact with children and marvel at their growth and development makes my job a true pleasure. To let you know a bit about myself, I am the proud mother of two beautiful girls, Erin and Kylla, who are my favourite people in the world to hang out with alongside my husband! We love to go to the movies together, try out new restaurants, and spend time outdoors exploring the mountains. The dream for me would be to move to Scotland and live in a beautiful castle, who knows, it could happen! I love working here at Midlake as the staff are fantastic and dedicate their hearts to the children. Without them, the centre would not be the caring, safe and loving environment that it is. I’d love to meet you and tell you why I think Kids & Company would be a wonderful place for your child and your family. Please come take a tour and see everything Midlake has to offer.
At Kids & Company, we work with your family to ensure that the transition is a smooth one. Before your child’s first day, we’ll provide information on what to expect. We’ll create an integration schedule that is right for your child and every day that your child is in the classroom, you’ll receive a daily report that lets you know how your child’s day was. You’ll also be able to see him or her on our in classroom web cameras. The Centre Director will even send you an email before the end of the day if your child has a special “wow” moment that day.
Toddlers learn best in the context of relationships within small groups. There are fewer distractions and children’s activities are more focused. In Kids & Company toddler classrooms, our small groups allow very young children to make connections, form caring relationships, and learn to understand other children.
All two-year-olds examine everything they see, hear, feel and observe in an attempt to make sense of the world around them. In our preschool programs, Kids & Company teachers interact, observe and interpret the interests of preschool students to encourage further discoveries by planning activities and investigations that expand your child’s learning.
Kids & Company runs comprehensive kindergarten programs designed for children who are 4 or 5 years old (junior and senior kindergarten age) to prepare them for Grade 1. Using emergent curriculum techniques to adapt to the children’s’ interests and skills, we set a foundation of early literacy, numeracy, artistry, and the construction of relationships and ideas. Kindergarten programs are integrated into full-time child care to provide convenience and continuity.
Select Kids & Company locations offer school age programming for children ages 6-12 (Grades 1 – 6). Whether you have a younger child attending a Kids & Company location and you’d like the convenience of picking up your children in the same location or you’d like a program that’s run by trusted educators, Kids & Company school age programs may be right for your child.
